Announcing: The Sheltered Storm

Hello again. It’s been a good, long while.

Readers gifted with a strong memory will recall that when this blog was active, it sometimes made reference to (or even shared pieces of) a book I was writing on the Sandy Hook shooting, and what I had learned about the causes of the event over the years. The title of that story is The Sheltered Storm: the True Story of the Man-made Disaster That Struck the Village of Sandy Hook, Connecticut on December 12, 2012. I’m proud to announce that you’ll be able to read it very soon, for free, at

I will be publishing the entire story online, serially, with new chapters on Mondays and Thursdays, starting October 10th, 2019. I hope you’ll join me to read it; if you would like to keep up-to-date with the story, follow @sheltered_storm on twitter, or just check regularly.

There will not be any further updates to Sandy Hook Lighthouse, which has already been dormant for some time. It was a difficult, and at times deeply flawed project, but one I tried hard to keep informative and useful, even in some small way. Thank you for reading.
